O aneurisma da veia poplítea é uma entidade rara mas potencialmente fatal pelas eventuais complicações tromboembólicas. O objetivo deste trabalho é descrever dois casos institucionais e proceder a uma revisão da literatura. Em um dos casos o diagnóstico foi feito após ocorrência de embolia pulmonar sintomática e em outro de forma incidental. Em ambos os casos o tratamento foi por cirurgia convencional sem complicações peri operatórias. Da revisão literária foram analisados um total de 43 aneurismas da veia poplítea publicados entre 206 e 2016.
